Being overweight has been my reality for most of my adult life. It's hard for me to remember a time when I wasnt overweight. I've tried many weight loss plans over the years, but in the end, I tried and failed so many times that I began to believe that being fat was my lot in life.
By Christmas, 2009, I was heavier than ever at 264 pounds. My hips and knees were really starting to bother me and my cholesterol had reached 232. My doctor told me that I really needed to work on getting some weight off. She felt that would help to lower my cholesterol. I knew she was right, but how? I didn't know what to do or where to begin.
My daughter, Laura, was at the Woman's Clinic for her yearly checkup and picked up and Ideal Protein brochure in the waiting room. She read it and immediately asked to speak with someone about the program. She came home loaded with information. Laura told me the Woman's Clinic was having an informational meeting next week. She really wanted me to go and hear what they had to say. I promised her I would. Looking back, I don't know what made me decide to try one more time to conquer this obstacle in my life. But, I'm so thankful that I did. I started the Ideal Protein plan in February 2010, and as of November, 2010, I have lost 70.5 pounds and 37.5 inches. I feel great and am confident that I will reach my goal of 100 pounds in the very near future.
What has the Ideal Protein plan done for me? It's hard to put into words how great it feels to be able to shop in the misses department and actually find something that fits. I am a Pre-K teaching assistant and oh, how joyful it is to be able to run, jump, skip and even hula hoop with me class. To see how proud mt family is of me is amazing. It has been years since I've been able to wear my wedding ring. Now, not only can I get it on my finger, it is actually loose. But the most important thing is my helath. My blood pressure is excellent and my cholesterol has dropped to 132. Unbelievable!
I'm not going to lie and say it has been and easy process. Losing weight is hard work and I still have a ways to go. But I can say that the Ideal Protein plan has finally brought me the weight loss success I've always longed for. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
