ABLATION
Endometrial ablation is a quick, outpatient alternative to hysterectomy for some women who have heavy menstrual bleeding and wish to avoid surgery. Most ablations can be done in the office setting. After the procedure, most women will have little or no menstrual bleeding.
AESTHETIC LASERS (COATSLAND COSMETICS)
We offer laser hair removal in the bikini area, lip area, chin area, arms, legs, and underarms. Laser treatments are available for spider veins and broken capillaries. Skin rejuvenation laser treatments reduce small facial blood vessels and wrinkles. Laser treatments for sun spots (brown flat spots) associated with aging and/or sun exposure are available as well. For additional details regarding our laser treatments, see the drop down on the left side of this page labeled "Coatsland Cosmetics".
APPOINTMENT REMINDER AUTOMATED PHONE TREE
We have an automated phone system, "phone tree", set up that will call and remind you 1-2 days before your appointment date.
COUNSELING SERVICES (GRIEF AND POSTPARTUM)
We have Linda Burns, MS/NCC/LPC/MHSP, licensed professional counselor, available to conveniently meet with you here at the clinic. She specializes in grief and postpartum counseling.
DAVINCI ROBOTICS
Davinci Robotics allows the physician to perform less-invasive surgical procedures in a hospital setting which allows the patient to have less pain, discomfort, blood loss and a quicker return to normal activities. You may be a candidate for the use of Davinci Robotics if you are a woman who requires a hysterectomy.
DEPO-PROVERA
Depo-Provera is an injectable contraception that is given every 13 weeks. This injection is given in the clinic by the Woman's Clinic nursing staff. This is a great alternative for patients who do not like taking and/or remembering to take birth control pills on a daily basis.
DEXASCAN
A dexascan is used to evaluate bone mineral density, or bone loss. After this scan is performed by one of our technicians, it is reviewed by your Woman's Clinic physician/provider. This scanning process is not painful and is a great way to evaluate your bone health. Having a dexascan will not only evaluate your bone health but can allow your physician/provider to start, or maintain, you on appropriate supplementation to prevent future bone loss and/or fractures.
DIETICIAN
For patients who have the need for special diet concerns, the Woman's Clinic has a licensed certified dietician available for appointments. These appointments are scheduled and you see her here at the Woman's Clinic. She can help you with meal planning to get better control of diabetes and establish healthier eating habits for patients who may suffer from obesity and desire weight loss.
ESSURE
Essure is a permanent birth control procedure that can be performed in the office setting in less than 15 minutes. This is an option for women who are certain they do not want children in the future and is NOT intended to be a reversible procedure. It is hormone-free, incision-free, and requires no hospitalization, or general anesthesia. The patient recovers quickly and usually returns to their normal activities in 1-2 days. One of our Essure physicians insert soft, flexible micro-inserts through the body's natural pathways (vagina, cervix, and uterus). During the next 3 months after the procedure, the inserts work with your body to create a natural barrier that prevents sperm from reaching the egg. During this 3-month period, you will need to use another form of birth control. Three months after the Essure placement, you will have an Essure Confirmation Test. This test uses a dye and special type of x-ray to ensure that the inserts are in place and that the fallopian tubes are completely blocked. This confirmation test is performed by the physician who inserted your Essure and will be done at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital as an outpatient/short-stay procedure and you usually go home within hours of having this done.

3D/4D Ultrasound
See what your unborn baby will look like before he/she arrives with a 3D/4D ultrasound.
ULTROID
Ultroid is a painless, convenient, non-surgical alternative treatment performed in the office at the Woman's Clinic, P.A. for hemorrhoidal disease. The procedure takes about 10 minutes and patients have rapid relief of symptoms and most patients return to their usual, daily activities on the day of treatment. Instead of messy creams or the painful recovery and expense of hemorrhoid surgery, call for a consult today to see if you are a candidate for this procedure. Why suffer?
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Four-dimensional (4D) ultrasound?
4D is the latest in ultrasound technology. 4D takes three-dimensional ultrasound images and adds the element of time to the process. This allows you to see your unborn baby in amazing real time detail.
What is the Optimal time for a 3D/4D ultrasound?
This depends on how you would like to see your baby. Between 24-29 weeks, babies have a more skeletal appearance with 4D, but you are able to see more of the baby at once. From 29-40 weeks babies are developing the fat layer that fills in their features so you will be able to see more facial detail at this time. 3D/4D imaging also depends greatly on the baby's position, size, movement and amount of amniotic fluid as well as the mothers size and weight, therefore we cannot guarantee image quality due to those factors.
Will you provide measurements of the baby or establish a due date?
No. This ultrasound is an optional non-diagnostic service and is only offered after you have received your 19-21 week fetal assessment. We will not be able to determine the weight of your baby nor will we establish or change your due date. This ultrasound is done solely for entertainment purposes and will not replace your fetal assessment.
Will you be able to determine gender?
Yes, we will be able to re-verify or check the gender of your baby if the baby is in a good position. As with the fetal assessment, gender is not 100% guaranteed.
How many people can I bring to view the ultrasound?
Due to the size of our exam rooms, we asked that you limit the number of people to 5 or 6. Some exceptions can be made.
What if I am not satisfied with my images?
We cannot guarantee that images will be similar to those you might have seen elsewhere or even from our imaging facility. Every baby scans differently depending on its gestational age, position, and amount of amniotic fluid. We will strive to get the best images possible. If the baby is sleeping or facing towards the mothers spine and we cannot obtain any images within the first few minutes of the ultrasound, we may ask that you reschedule at a later date at no charge to you.
Is 4D Ultrasound Safe?
Yes, ultrasound has been used for over 35 years and has been proven through countless studies to be a non-invasive tool with many benefits. We strictly adhere to the standard set by the FDA which restricts ultrasound exposure to levels that produce few, if any, effects on the fetus. Presently ultrasound is as safe as ever when performed by a highly trained and skilled sonographer and performed within a reasonable amount of time. Our exams are limited to 30 minute sessions with approximately 15-20 minutes dedicated to performing the ultrasound and allowing 10 minutes to prepare for and clean up after the exam.
Can I have the 3D/4D ultrasound if I am pregnant with twins or multiples?
Yes. Please inform us if you are pregnant with twins so that we can allow more time for your exam. You will need to schedule your appointment between 24-30 gestational weeks for the best imaging. Also, there is an additional $75 charge for multiples.
How long will the ultrasound take?
You will be scheduled for a 30 minute time slot. This allows 15-20 minutes for the ultrasound and 10 minutes to print your pictures and complete your CD so that you can take it with you the same day. We do ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out any necessary paperwork.
What if I happen to be late?
We have a very limited number of appointments each day and do ask that you try to be on time for your appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late you may be asked to reschedule so that we do not delay appointments remaining.
Do I have to make an appointment?
Yes, appointments are necessary.
Will my insurance pay for my 3D/4D ultrasound?
NO. This ultrasound is an elective exam not covered by insurance. You will be required to pay prior to your ultrasound.
Am I allowed to bring a video / digital camera to the ultrasound?
No. We do not allow anyone to record or take pictures during the ultrasound. We will provide you with several pictures on a CD so that you will be able to make as many copies as you wish.
